Wish I had thought of that when I did my son’s and he was 9 months old…. Those prints were a mess!

Do you have any good suggestions for babyproofing things likeep lamps, humidifiers, etc in a baby’s Montessori nursery with a floor bed? Thanks!

We just put up some decorative mirror pieces above the floor bed. They are flower designs with cutouts. I’m wondering if the cutout design would be as beneficial as if we had full circles.

I could probably spend hours on it! The problem is I can’t seem to commit to Montessori method or implement it because I’m so inconsistent, unstructured, and procrastinate like crazy. I’ll set up some activities but not keep up wit it. How do I get myself together enough to implement Montessori and stick with it so my kids can grow up with the structure I never had.?

I have now found the most comprehensive resource on the Montessori floor-bed issue!

Thanks for your comment, Kelsey! It’s great to hear that you’re using a floor bed with your toddler! I haven’t talked with anyone about a situation similar to yours, although it could work very well to have a baby and toddler in the same room. It all depends on how your children handle the situation, so you’ll probably have to play it by ear a bit.

I did have a large portion of the room where my baby’s floor bed was partitioned off to create a safe space for the baby. I don’t know if something like that would be helpful for you. Here’s another post with a bit about it: https://livingmontessorinow.com/2010/10/05/how-to-set-up-your-home-for-an-infant-using-montessori-principles/.

I am concerned with how it will work with floor beds and a baby and toddler in the same room. We had some difficulty since we introduced the floor bed to Gabriel at 10 months and I wanted to avoid that by starting earlier with our second. Any suggestions as to how we can accomplish this safely? Separate rooms are not an option. 🙁 We will probably co-sleep initially, but with Gabriel it was only for 6-7 weeks until he slept through the night. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I cannot seem to find any resources online!
