Second, I appreciate how you differentiate the various needs that each family faces. What I need to do now with elementary aged homeschoolers is so different than what I did when my crew was mostly primary or even in the infant/toddler stages.
When we’re in a strong routine, the three hour work cycle is one of the most amazing things we’ve implemented here.
Thank you!

I love how Montessori isn’t something you do, but something that you are, no matter what role you have. You show such a great balance of time, energy, and focus in this post. It’s very inspirational.

It’s interesting for someone like me who hasn’t been in a pure Montessori school and is a first-timer homeschooler. The different roles make such a huge difference and I think it’s so important to highlight that at home, we would not necessarily achieve the same routines as in a school. I think part of the Montessori appeal for me (especially in the beginning) is wanting my children to act how all the children seem to act in Montessori schools. I’m glad that over time I’ve come to learn that Montessori is a method that is so much deeper than just copying what’s on the surface. Everything we blog about are wonderful inspirations, but in the end we must remember to follow the child and the parent. Lovely post Deb!

What a wonderful place for her to be! I’m kind of jealous my kids don’t get a prepared environment when they go to their grandparents.
